The Find Labs team is excited to unveil our newest addition to the Flow ecosystem - the Flow blockchain Historical API. We are pleased to offer this comprehensive API, entirely free of charge, to empower all users embarking on their journey to build and innovate #onFlow.
In this blog post, we will discuss the reasons behind the creation of this freemium product and provide details on how to access it.

As the Flow foundation expands into the future, their team will begin retiring some older nodes containing historical data from the Flow blockchain. Historical data is essential for developers building applications that need to track changes over time, such as analytics dashboards or market monitoring tools. When these nodes cease to operate, accessing historical data would be more time consuming for developers to access.
Developers would be forced to operate their own nodes which are costly or source the data directly from the chain which can be time consuming and sometimes confusing.
This is why the Find Labs team has been developing a Historical Node API that will be free to use for everyone in the community.
Note: Please note, this Historical API is different from our Full API, which is currently in the works!
At our core, the Find Labs team is composed of builders, developers, blockchain enthusiasts, and team players who share a passion for expanding the Flow ecosystem. We understand the importance of these older nodes being retired, and wanted to give back to the community by creating an accessible, freemium API, for those seeking historical data on the Flow blockchain.
